Theology Thursdays: The Launch of The BlackElectorate.com-"Closing The Gap" Study Group
On Thursday, March 1st, 2007 one week after the Nation Of Islam’s Annual Saviours’ Day 2007 Convention, in Detroit, Michigan, BlackElectorate.com will be launching its online study group around the new book, Closing The Gap.
This group, over ten months, will discuss aspects of the ten sections of the book. We are in the process now, of compiling supplemental study materials designed to deepen the discussion and understanding of the book, and finalizing details of the process we will follow in how we conduct our dialogue over its contents. Right now, we have decided that the interaction of study group members should take place via e-mail, chat room, and telephone conference call.
To join the Study Group all that you have to do is 1) purchase a copy of the book from either BlackElectorate.com or The Final Call Online Bookstore (http://store.finalcall.com/) and 2) and send an e-mail to : closingthegap@blackelectorate.com, asking to become a member. You must include in that e-mail a copy of your receipt (or cut and paste it without any credit card info). Those individuals who have already sent e-mails to closingthegap@blackelectorate.com, as of the end of December 2006 are already Members of the Study Group.
This Study Group is not only for Registered Members of The Nation Of Islam, although any and all Believers are warmly invited to participate and certainly welcome. Membership is open to any of our BlackElectorate.com viewers who are interested in seriously reading, studying and intelligently discussing this important book, following the guidelines that we will provide. We are hoping for a diverse membership –individuals from all backgrounds - reflecting the wide-range of topics, issues, dynamics, events, principles, phenomena, and experiences discussed in this book by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and Minister Jabril Muhammad.
If you are interested, please order your copy of Closing The Gap: Innerviews of The Heart, Mind, and Soul Of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan from the BlackEelctorate.com Bookstore today at: http://www.blackelectorate.com/book/book.asp?BookID=97. If you already have a copy, please purchase another, and give it as a gift to a friend or someone you would like to close a personal gap with – a companion, spouse, friend, sibling, co-worker, associate or peer.
The book makes for wonderful and stimulating conversation, and in a way that deepens our understanding of ourselves and one another.
