Lani Guinier on The Electoral College


A week ago I wrote a piece on why I think there is a legitimate case to eliminate the electoral college. I offered that the elimination of the Electoral College would disaggregate power in the white majority along regional and state lines which would strengthen the hand of the Black electorate because Blacks would probably still vote as a near monolithic bloc and dominate urban areas throughout the country. Today we have another opinion from Harvard Professor, Lani Guinier, which makes another case for how the Electoral College system distributes voting power inequitably among the citizens of the United States.
