Religion, Theology and Self-Improvement Sundays: What Is Prophecy? Part X
We have spent a few weeks on Genesis 15: 13-14 in an effort to raise the question of why Blacks are rarely thought of in connection to the prediction contained in these verses even though their circumstances correspond with the description. We also have focused on these verses in an effort to show how it can be proven that a prediction contained within a prophecy has been fulfilled. Today, we look at another rarely discussed verse in the Old Testament, that again, stunningly corresponds with the circumstances of Blacks in this country and unlike Genesis15: 13-14, is overtly predicted to be fulfilled in the latter days or last days. The prediction can be found in the Book of Joel chapter 3 verses 1-7. These verses speak of a slavery experience that is to occur at the end of the world. The implications of these verse are enormous, and if considered honestly and in the light of U.S. history, would force the theologians of Christianity, Islam and Judaism to reconsider their study of scripture and their view of Black People in America and the Western Hemisphere.
Please read these verses and think over why the slave experience of Blacks from Africa to the Western Hemisphere, which occurred around 6,000 years after Adam (according to theologians), is never publicly referred to by prominent theologians in connection with these verses.
It would be best to read these verses in as many translations of the Bible that you can get your hands on. In the New International Version these verses read:
1: In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
2: I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning my inheritance, my people Israel, for they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.
3: They cast lots for my people and traded boys for prostitutes; they sold girls for wine that they might drink.
4: Now, what have you against me, O Tyre and Sidon and all you regions of Philistia? Are you repaying me for something I have done? If you are paying me back, I will swiftly and speedily return on your own heads what you have done.
5: For you took my silver and my gold and carried off my finest treasures to your temples.
6: You sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks, that you might send them far from their homeland.
7: See, I am going to rouse them out of the places to which you sold them, and I will return on your heads what you have done.
